One Hundred Pushups: A Workout Program
64
Introduction
One hundred pushups is a very effective and quick workout program that I've found years ago on the web. This training program does not have the "strenous exercise" profile, but rather relies on simple, well-organized push ups. The amount of push ups is strongly personalized. You don't have to find a trainer, or go to the gym, you can do it simply at home by your own.
How is the program built?
- The user has to complete an exertion test, the goal is to perform as many push ups as the person can do.
- The result will be evaluated from the number of pushups and then interpreted in a special table that categorize according to age and well-estabilished intervals in push up amount.
- Being subdivided into weeks, the program can tell you if you need to start from the very beginning, or simply start from the week that contains well-defined criterias.
- Each week has three days by which four different pushup sessions are assigned + one final push up measuring the maximal pushups the person can perform.
- At the end of the week, an exertion test is required to evaluate the current physical fitness, and to determine whether the user has to restart the week, or just pass to the next week's session.
Additional features
This program not only includes push ups, you can also choose from these programs:
Of course, these programs can be found via hundredpushups.com, so you can go from one category to another. This training chain includes a logger, where you can note down your workouts.
Additionally, every section contains a short how-to guide in order to perform exercises correctly. Though these exercises do not require acrobatic movements, to rule out possible health concerns, a consultation with the family doctor is advised.
The program is downloadable in .pdf format, and each section includes a fully working mobile application for iphone and android.
